This post is about updating my previous E3D-V6 hot end cartridge.
- Noisy cooler for blowing off the pipe of standard size 3010 was replaced by 4010;
- Improved hotend mounting geometry – now it holds very securely;
- Added stiffeners inside the blower nozzle and improved their geometry.
The filter element uses a threaded sleeve, which is easy to disassemble and assemble, and is very reliable. The 4010 cooler can significantly reduce the noise level compared to the 3010 cooler.
The fan of this model is fixed with M2 screws. Therefore, to tighten them, it is necessary to weld the front and rear parts of the barrel with M2-4 threaded bushings on one side and 4 on the other. For the BL-Touch holder, the M3 threaded bushings must be fused into the front of the cartridge, one on each side.
In the BL-Touch bracket itself, to mount the sensor, you need to melt 2 bushings with M2.5 thread
2 M2.5 threaded bushings must be fused into the front of the cartridge to secure the fan cover.
The two halves of the cartridge are fastened with two DIN912 M3x16 screws, for which 2 M3 threaded bushings must be melted in front.
If/when the article gets 75 likes, I will write a second part where I will post a print layout.
